People, Places and Stories from the Silk Road with Dr. Clark Wernecke
Mondays, 9:00 – 10:00
Sun City Ballroom
(In-Person / On-Demand)
For more than 3,000 years, the Silk Road served as a network of trade routes linking China with the civilizations of the West. Along these routes, merchants exchanged not only goods, but also plants, technologies, cultures, and ideas that shaped societies across continents. Much of the trade was controlled by intermediaries who often profited the most while preventing direct connections between Europe and China. Through engaging stories, this course explores the fascinating people, places, and events that made the Silk Road one of history’s most influential trade networks. Join us as we uncover how the Silk Road helped shape the world we know today.
